Anya was born in Leningrad, raised in St.-Petersburg and now lives in London, UK. She considers herself a renaissance person and has a few trades under her belt. They have been working as a photographer since 2007. Anya prefers to work on long-term projects, diving deep into the subject. Among her interests are liminal spaces, as well as humans’ interaction with the cityscape.
Having graduated as a psychologist, Anya is also drawn to the topic of people and their bodies: the way a person perceives their body’s physical abilities, its needs and its boundaries. Apart from that, Anya explores the way intergenerational, cultural and collective trauma is passed on and how people choose to cope with it.
